My Saviors... What would I do without you?

Currently using

Lantus 16 units
Humalog KwikPen 30-40 untis
Symlin Pen 15mm
 (About 10 Injections a day)

One Touch Ultra Smart
Im personally not a big fan of one touch meters they always has test strip errors whether its not enough blood in the strip or if you didn't double check the coding... I wasted quite a few but im getting them for free right now since im participating in a study. Otherwise i usually get the wal mart brand reli-on strips they are a little over .50 cents a strip (one touch is about 1.00 a strip) and with almost no errors. The only problem with reli on is that its only available at  wal mart and no where else and i got the small simple meter that does not graph like my one touch does.

Dexcom Reviewed....

I just received my sensors for the Dexcom sensor and decided to give it a try, i placed it on my belly since its easier for me to reach. It is not as noticeable and does not stick out as much as the omni pod. Each sensor is about $80.00 and it last about 7 days!

Pic of the actual dexcom sensor, the arrow pointing up
shows that it is raising
yep im running high as usual =(

Sensor placed in my belly (I usually put tape over it for extra protection because they tend to rip off) I have really sensitive skin.

Each sensor lasts about 7 days but you can restarted
"stop" the sensor and restart it again to try to make it last longer but i seem to notice that the readings are less accurate if you use  the same sensor past 7 days.

Its been a while...

Its been 3 years and i still cant seem to bring my A1c to normal :( the lowest it has ever been was 8.0 and right now its about 9. Im worried that i am not getting this illness. How long did it take you to be in good control? Most people in all the forums are in such good control and makes it seems like its so easy.
